Can A DPF be Cleaned Using Water and Non Specialised Equipment? – No!

Water alone will not clean your DPF or any other of the exhaust after-treatment components.

Using a high-pressure washer or harsh chemicals will damage the internals of the DPF.

The Silicon Carbide material used throughout the filter is easily damaged.

The use of a harsh chemical may give the immediate effect of de-restricting the filter but in the coming weeks the filter internals will breakdown causing the DPF to collapse of become restricted once again and beyond servicing.

Don’t risk damaging such as expensive part.

With the correct equipment and techniques your filter can be cleaned to 98% of its original condition for the fraction of the replacement cost.
