Can I Clean My DPF Myself?

February 9, 2021

Without specialised-equipment, knowledge, techniques & products the likelihood of a successfully cleaning your DPF off vehicle and not causing damage to the components of the filter or have the issue arise again in the near future is low to none.

Unfortunately, we see the end result of attempts from owners & mechanics to clean these exhaust after-treatment components with harsh chemicals and or pressure washers on a all to regular basis with sadly the only solution being to order a new part due to the damage caused that we discover during pre-clean testing.

After several years of extensive testing of products & techniques to safely & successfully clean any Exhaust After Treatment Part and ensure no damage will be caused to the component or engine damage to the vehicle/ equipment ,we discovered the use of harsh chemicals in the short term seemed to break down the build-up in a restricted filter but in the coming weeks the coating of the core of the filter would begin to breakdown and cause the same issue to arise, this time not from soot or ash but from its own filter internals.

In conclusion the high cost of replacing these components and the inconvenience caused when they fail in our opinion should be enough persuasion to get your DPF, CAT, SCR or DOC professionally serviced.

That being said we understand people enjoy working on and fixing their own vehicles or equipment.

For this reason we have catered our services to not only be conducted at our workshop but to be able to come to your home or your workshop with our mobile flash cleaning module and have any Exhaust Aftertreatment  Component, once deemed serviceable, back in action in most cases around 4hrs.

Our focus : Quality , Value, Convenience, Transparency all working together to limit as much as possible downtime and stress to the customer.
